Friday need-to-own: khaki jacket
The style-savvy mother knows the importance of a good topper. It’s a girl’s sneakiest wardrobe staple, imparting instant polish and acres of style no matter what you are wearing.
For the mother-on-the-hop, a khaki jacket is the most versatile. It’s casual but cool, goes with EVERYTHING and can fix a fashion disaster flawlessly due to its inbuilt, expert camouflage capabilities. Clever.
This season, choose from military styling, the classic anorak shape or a single-breaster for effortless, “I don’t give a fig” style. Know that the bigger, more voluminous versions are best handled with a belt. Toss it on over your gym gear, a cocktail frock or favourite jeans – hell throw it over your pyjamas if you want!
The best options I have found are at Zara, JCrew, Balenciaga, Rag & Bone and Current Elliott. They are sooo camo-chic.
Some cool street style-spiration. It is THE ultimate wardrobe stand-by.
Happy Friday everyone and a special call-out to Emma Paps and Sarah Pietrzak who are the winners of the ME Salon prize this week! Enjoy and congrats you lucky mothers!

Love this! I steal my son’s khaki army jacket all the time. I need an anorak version though. This is going on my fall wish list!
